I find it interesting that with very few exceptions, we 10th Region BGPers tend to be very supportive of our fellow 10th teams; especially in venues like the 5/3 tourney. Very much a case of "a good showing by 10th teams - even those that are our bitter rivals - makes our region look that much better". I often see the same sort of thing with the "mountain teams".

 

Is this unique to our region, or is it pretty much the case throughout the state? I'm not talking about the "we 7th regioners or we 11th regioners think we're the best" mentality - I'm talking about, for example, folks from Clark County genuinely wishing Mason County well and vice-versa - especially in the holiday tournaments.

I like to see all the 11th region teams do well except when they play us.

I remember a post I made in support of another 10th region team. Another poster...which is a friend of mine..commented that I wasn't for his team....my reply...got to support my 10th region buddies.:thumb: Hey at the State Tourney last year you would have thought I was from Mason Co.

 

I think you see it more in some regions than others, the 10th being one of them.

I've seen a good deal of that at the 5/3rd also. Mason had a good deal of support last night from the other 10th teams still around, as well as their fans. Also saw a good deal of support for other teams from certain areas of the state as well (ie: Brossart fans cheering for Holmes in a tight game with X) Good to see we can put aside some differences, or as Mark Wehry, the CovCath announcer put it in their broadcast--"The enemy of my enemy is my friend"!!

I know that when 14th region teams leave the region, I pull for them. Especially in these holiday tournaments and the state tournament.

Its tough to get behind a rival and wish them the best of luck. Coming from the 16th region however, I think its great when one of our schools gets out of the region and becomes a giant killer. I always root for our regions teams during holiday tournaments and even more so for whoever wins our region and goes to state. The team that wins your region is a direct reflection of the area you live in. Its always nice to see a local team do well in my opinion.

You should always root for your region. I think it shows the respect and support that we give.... I would hope for one of our 10th region teams to win every tournament that they are in. We get noticed and it goes to show just how tough our region is. I personally, and I say "Me" thinks the tenth region is the toughest region that there is..... Any response would be greatly appreciated. Go Tenth region... and I hope the PC Wildcats do well at the end of the season and give the other teams a workout for their "trophy".

Generally speaking I believe everyone pulls together in the 16th for the most part with two glaring exceptions-Ashland(jeolousy,envy,"the arrogance of Ashland"-take your pick) and Rose Hill( envy or "they cheat" -take your pick).Notice I said Generally speaking -That doesn't mean everyone feels that way.
