Hendo the latest tasked with slowing Humphreys in a contrast of styles

Records: Daviess County (6-1), Henderson County (5-2)

BGP Ranking: Daviess County (#8 in 6A), Henderson County (unranked in 6A)

Series History: Hendo leads 21-5 dating back to 1998

Table Setter: After hanging 122 points on its first two district opponents, Daviess County now plays host to one of the best defenses they'll see this season. Henderson County rolls into town allowing 12.5 points a game, led by lineman Saadiq Clements, a junior who already holds multiple Power 5 offers. Joe Humphreys' right arm garners most of the attention, but his legs might be his saving grace this week. He's sure to cross paths with Clements at some point, putting his escapability to the test.

Humphreys is in a zone right now, accounting for 20 touchdowns and nearly 1,200 yards of total offense in his last three games. Receivers Max Dees and Decker Renfrow have excelled in their roles as primary targets in the passing game and Gunnar Evans provides balance on the ground. That's the #3 and #4 leaders in 6A for receiving yardage and the #6 rusher.

Scoring points has not been an issue for the Panthers, but Hendo has been held to two touchdowns or less in four of its six games this year, including the last three in a row. This is not a team built to keep pace in a track meet or come from behind. The Colonels are a ground and pound team that averages 4.3 yards per carry. A fast start might be essential for their chances at an upset.
