Thought St. X played pretty well tonight. Manual was going to make St. X beat them through the air and St. X did a good job of doing that. Getting Bennett Boehlein going in the passing game could take the offense to the next level. The Tiger defense did a great job and answered the bell in the trenches. Once Manual started throwing you could tell they looked uncomfortable. Good game by the Tigers, keep taking care of business and the path to Lexington could just come through Poplar Level Rd.

As I told @Tigerpride94, I don't think you could have written a better script for Manual to lose this game.

They take the opening possession and throw a 3 yard loss on a bubble screen, run for 3 and run for 3.  Have a 20 yard punt.  Then St. X just runs simple plays and scores easily.  Next offensive possession, Manual throws an easy INT for a short field and X cashes without a sweat.  14-0 and it doesn't even feel the game has even started.

Manual hit a long TD pass late in the second quarter and it's called back on a holding penalty.  That was a HUGE penalty.  I didn't see if it was or wasn't holding, but it was a HUGE penalty.  From that point forward, I don't think Manual ran the ball much at all.  And as others have said here, Manual just isn't comfortable as a pass first team; so why turn yourself into that?  I don't understand that.

6 Turnovers and you won't win many games.  I think Manual can have a much better showing in the playoffs and even win, but they are going to have to stick to the run to set up a few passes and likely need a few St X turnovers to get that win.  It's not likely, but could happen.
