DevilMayCare
Final. The decade long drought for the Colonels is over.

ColonelMike
Interesting game - and fun for the fans, as it literally wasn't decided until South's final onside kick failed, and Oldham got a first down to run out the clock... Fumbled snaps and penalties cost South big.... Two missed extra points by Oldham gave South the opportunity to win.... South QB Devlin McGee had his most impressive game as a Dragon QB, throwing darts with good accuracy tonight. Biggest beneficiary was Connor Hayden, who repeatedly burned the Colonels. Both McGee and Hayden may have come into their own tonight. Grant Gilchrist of Oldham had a solid game, running for (unofficially) 80 yards and a TD. With Caden Shepard bottled up most of the night, the speedy Gilchrist took advantage. Sam Young was largely unstoppable, but the Colonels didn't lean on him all that much. He threw for two touchdowns and ran for a third. Not questioning - I give the coaches credit for all the work that goes into game planning, and I know they had reasons for all their decisions - but I admit I was very surprised that OC didn't cut Young loose more. When Oldham did let Young open up the passing game, they were rewarded with a 98 yard drive just before the half ended that resulted in a TD pass and a 14-0 lead. This was the drive when Oldham looked most dominant. Overall, though, Oldham called a very conservative offensive game, which surprised me. Big play of the night: On third and goal at the South six, leading 20-14, Oldham called what appeared to be a safe play to center the ball to set up an easy three points to stake out a late two score lead, calling a QB keeper up the middle. Surprise! The Oldham line exploded off the line of scrimmage, blowing back the South defensive line, and Sam Young "rode the wave" six yards into the end zone. Instead of 23-14, Oldham was suddenly up 28-14 after going for, and getting, two points on the conversion. Apologies to our viewers: We had a technical glitch in the first half with our camera that resulted in a very dark screen. I corrected it at the half, but I apologize for a first half that was hard for some folks to see on Pegasus Sports. The camera failed to adjust appropriately to the lighting, and it took a bit to get it to "reset".
Fighting Colonels
Great win for OC. I’m so glad they were finally able to get this burden off of them. This has to be the best OC team since the late 90s. The 2018 team was good but I think this team is much better then that team ever was. Excited to see where this team goes.
