Conner came out in Week 1 and beat 6A Lafayette 35-12. The Cougars were definitely reliant on the run, with 273 of their 361 total yards offense (76%) coming on the ground. Conner may have only had 55 more yards of offense than the Generals, but they were able to turn their yardage into 5 offensive touchdowns, to Lafayette's 2.

Last week didn't go well for Conner, though, when 6A Ryle held their offense to a measly 92 total yards and one lone touchdown, while Ryle put together five offensive touchdowns in 337 yards gained, plus one pick-6 to beat the Cougars 40-7.

Dixie Heights also came out looking strong in Week 1, stomping 2A Lloyd Memorial 42-0. Dixie had 389 total yards offense to Lloyd's 121 yards. Dixie's offense was potent, and Logan Landers was 5-19 for 190 yds passing for 2 TDs, and rushed for another 67 yards and 1 TD. But like Conner, Week 2 didn't go as Dixie might have hoped, with the red Colonels heading home from Longbranch Road in Union on the losing side of a 19-10 contest with 5A Cooper. After having beaten Lloyd on a primarily run-based offense (57% rush, 43% pass), Cooper was able to stop Dixie's running game dead in its tracks, holding them to 42 yards on the ground. The Colonels' 162 yards passing helped keep them in the game, for sure, but it wasn't enough to hold off the Jags' offense, that rolled up 403 yards on Dixie, finding the end zone twice, and adding on with two field goals.

Which team improves to 2-1 this week?

I guess this pick comes down to how much faith you have in Northern Kentucky 6A teams. Based on the last few years, I'm guessing not much. Of course I say that and Dixie will probably beat Conner by three scores!

Dixie has to win this game, right?

This should definitely be one sided.

Sept 3rd vs Conner

Sept 10th at Cov Cath

Sept 24th vs Highlands

Oct 1st vs Beechwood

Uh yes this is a must win or they could be looking at 1-5 heading into District play. I like their schedule but sure didn’t expect a stumble against Cooper. Dixie is very talented and they need to show that this week to gain some confidence heading into this tough stretch of games. I think they get it together and beat Conner by a few scores.
