Greenup Co. 64 Fleming Co. 50

Nice win for Greenup, But better lace up your shoes for tomarrow.

I would say that Uncle Billy will not be as kind to the Muskies as he would have been if "little Jimmy" was pacing the opposite sidelines tonight...In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't spank them pretty badly because the Greenup administration spoiled the "family reunion game"...

I will say this, it would be a huge shame if he does take out a little "family revenge" on Greenup tonight...The kids on that team are innocent participants in the soap opera we know as Greenup Co basketball...Hopefully he realizes that too...

How long has Greenup's coach been there? Also, about how old is he?

Unfortunatly for GC Coach Billy Hicks could try and take it easy on them and still win by 40.

To be quite honest...Greenup has a decent looking team, but definetly lacked on sportsmanship on a player or two. I watched the Fleming Co guard take more lip from one of GC's players than most players would have taken. Hate to see any player act that way, escpecially when it is from a talented player...By the way, about 10 of us noticed the head-bunt, just not the refs:D

what number was the player that gave the head butt???

This was another good win for GCHS considering all the controversy they are going through down there. I feel for the kids, those are the ones that it hurts. When adults act like kids what can they expect from their players/kids??

Do you think the interview commitee even calls the previous school before hiring some of these coaches. You can learn allot from what they have done or not done at their last job. I agree that Sutton would do a great job. Its gona be hard for a while because kids can be loyal to a coach. They have to be careful not to ruin their year, and some of them their last year of basketball being loyal to a coach who may not be there. You cant give up on the rest of the team because someone has done something they shouldnt have. Be loyal to the school and the team. No one person is bigger than the program. The program will go on with or without you. It happens all the time.

JMO but I would say that Hicks got the job on his Uncle's name and reputation in the State.

Maybe so, Hicks is A good coach and as well as a person, Hicks works hard for those kids and puts alot of time into that program that he does not haft to do.I think people are jealous and there are some administrative staff that want a buddy in that postition.thats my take on it.

You may be right Tiny :thumb: . I am not close to the GCHS program to know those type of things. I am sure that Hicks does work hard and cares about the program. After all, isn't that is what a coach is supposed to do? I have seen more than one coach who does a good job, cares about the program and puts a lot of work into it and that same coach will negate any positives that he has by his actions in other matters. That's all I was saying. :thumb: I hope that GCHS / Hicks can get things worked out and avoid any futher problems. I also agree with you that Hicks is a good coach.

I think you will feel different when the truth comes out. I think they are more to being a good coach than x's and o's. You have to know how to treat people. You also have to be careful who you take advise from.

:thumb: I agree - as a football coach when I was in h.s. said "it's not about the X's and O's.......it's about the Jimmy's and Joes's". :thumb: As I said before, I don't know the whole story on that situation and just hope that GCHS/Hicks and the Admin can get things worked out.

Very Immaterial at this point, but definetly liked to talk, while other players were trying to get away from them. These type players just assume that know one pays attention to those types of things or that no one can see them, but they are mistaken, especially recruiters of small colleges:D
