Coaches need to follow heat guidelines and keep an eye on players for heat exhaustion or this could happen.

Why would basketball teams be practicing outside anyway that doesn’t make a lot of sense.

They were running bleachers for conditioning. So avoidable. I'm coaching track workouts and we don't do any endurance out of season. Just speed development. Plus follow heat guidelines. These days with what we know, should not be kids dying of heat.

This is so unfortunate. Prayers to the family!

Heat guidelines are set for a reason.  They are a pain sometimes and can alter practice plans on the regular but it's more important to keep these kids safe. Again, condolences to the family.
