Yeah, I'm going to have to concur....

When I first seen the original trailer it didn't show anything and I figured this movie was going to be CG animated or at least most of it. I'm glad it's sorta like the I-Robots. I can't wait for this movie to come out.Looks pretty action packed!

Hey, I don't care to say I liked the transformers. It was a good show and I am excited to see the movie! Nothing wrong with that!

I will stand up and fully admit that the Transformers was my favorite childhood cartoon. I will pay full price admission for this one, whether it gets panned or not.

I liked Transformers, and after seeing what Michael Bay is doing to it I am utterly disgusted. Rather unfortunate that Michael Bay is currently in the middle of raping my childhood. Needless to say I will be happy when this ordeal is over.

Optimus Prime not red or the same type of Semi-Truck I am not terribly happy about, but Megatron being a stupid looking Alien fighter? I think not. The faces on the Transformers seem out of wack too.

I don't mind some changes, and after I get to see a few more of them in greater detail my opinion may very well change on the matter. At this point however, I am not happy with what I see.

Sorry I don't drink the kool aid about Bay being a quality director either. Anyone who builds his career with Jerry Bruckheimer as his primary producer doesn't have much to be proud of. That and among Bay's "best" works are Pearl Harbor which was an abysmal film.

If you want a good Transformers movie, go get the new DVD of the original.

That said, as a childhood fan of Transformers I will be going to see this when it comes out. I am merely voicing my distaste for the drastic changing of the Transformers themselves. Appearance-wise that is.

Ebert and Peprock, I can see it now.

Someone has to stand up for the integrity of the originals. :p

That and you can usually tell alot about what a film is going to be like if you take note of a director's prior works. Michael Bay's filmography isn't impressive, so I am skeptical of the quality of this one.

Here is his background for reference purposes:

Transformers (2007) (post-production)

The Island (2005)

The Lionel Richie Collection (2003) (V) (video "Do It to Me")

Bad Boys II (2003)

... aka Good Cops: Bad Boys II (Malaysia: English title)

Pearl Harbor (2001)

... aka Pearl Harbour (UK: promotional title)

Armageddon (1998)

The Rock (1996)

Bad Boys (1995)

Shadows and Light: From a Different View (1992) (V)

Great White: My...My...My... The Video Collection (1991) (V) (video "Call It Rock N' Roll")

Of those films he has directed I can honestly only see two movies that can be considered decent films, Armageddon and The Rock. That, at best, is a stretch.

For those playing the home game, The Island is actually a remake of an old B movie from the 80's called "The Clonus." Creative lisence? I am not even going to get started on Pearl Harbor outside of suggesting that someone do some research and put ships from the era there when blowing them up.

Well I couldn't be a movie critic or anything because I really enjoyed The Island, Bad Boys 1 & 2, Armageddon, and Peral Harbor. Ah well though, to each his own!

I am no critic either I am just somewhat more selective I suppose. Mindless action and explosions, which are Bay's M.O. are not my cup of tea for the most part.

In fact his penchant for exploding cars will, I suppose, fit right in with this film.

Probably true..lol

I have all the Transformers episodes on DVD. It's like 33 discs or something. It wasn't my favorite, but probably #2. Anybody ever heard of a cartoon long ago called Mask? That was my favorite. I have all those episodes on VHS too.
