Gasoline shortage NKY

Featured Replies

Anybody notice or having issues acquiring fuel in NKY yet?  This morning I pulled into two stations that had a few pump handles bagged.  One had half their pump handles bagged and a few folks waiting to get to the pumps that did have fuel.  The other had a couple of handles bagged and some issues with credit card readers and again folks waiting to use unbagged pumps so had I to find a third station.  My wife and I have a trip to Smokies planned for this coming week and I don't know if we should go or not.  I check the info regarding the gas situation south of here and and it doesn't seem to be getting better but I also know news agencies love to report bad news more than good news.  Anybody on vacation there or just came back and could give some insight?

I just filled up in Florence, expensive but several open pumps at the Speedway I visited.

As a public service announcement, I'd just like to formally state that plastic bags are not necessarily the best containers to transport gasoline in.  Neither are plastic totes.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.

We are playing in a wheelchair basketball tournament in Atlanta this weekend.  Tournament is still on.  Director said to just keep your tank at least half full, that there were some issues around Atlanta but you can still find places to fill up.  They’re expecting things to be better by the weekend.

I traveled 3 states for work this week. No issues at all. Some people in Illinois were filling containers on Tuesday. But yesterday, they announced the pipeline was back up and running, and production will be fully back to normal by Friday. It’s also been reiterated over and over that there is no gas shortage..... unless people stockpile it with their toilet paper that’s still left from last year.

By the way, went on my trip and absolutely no problem obtaining gas ($2.69 lowest, $2.99 highest).  There were bagged pump handles, but no more than you would usually see.  Did see a few stations with considerably higher per gallon prices than other surrounding stations.
