McCracken County 3 Paducah Tilghman 2 (12 Innings)

Featured Replies

What a game! It's  a shame someone had to lose this one in a matchup of 2 great teams.

Tilghman pitcher Justin West gave up 1 hit and struck out 20 in 7 innings before the pitch count finished him off.

Definitely a tough one to lose for the Tornado after a dominant pitching performance. I believe either one of these teams can play with anyone.

McCracken improves to 15-4. Tilghman falls to 16-2.

That was an amazing baseball game, truly a great game to be at, have to feel horrible for Justin West. 20 strike outs out of 21 outs is one of the most Dominating pitching performance I’ve seen in a high school game. The ball never left the infield when west was pitching, the only hit was an infield single that went approximately 4 feet.

This was as good as it could get for a regular season game. Tilghman and McCracken are both very good and I think either of them could beat anyone they line up against.

Even though it was about pitching tonight, both these teams can really hit the ball and are as well rounded as you could want.

Real shame one of these teams will not make it to the sweet 16.

Once again this year, Tilghman is one of the best, if not the best, teams my Mustangs will play. Both are teams that could beat anyone in the state on a given day. It is tragic that they are in the same district, much less the same region!

West tied the state record for strikeouts over seven innings.

Who was the other player, and against who?

There are 13 other players tied for that record, spanning from McKell's Don Gullett in 1969 to Apollo's Brennen Krahwinkel in 2017.

Was there on a pretty cold night, West had the Mustangs number the whole game. The first 2 runs scored by both teams were on overthrows at first base. The relief pitchers also threw shutout baseball basically with no team able to take advantage until the final hit.
