Western has hired Jalen Harrington as head football coach.

Coach Harrington heads to Western after his first year as a head coach, spent as HC for the Shawnee Golden Eagles.

Harrington is a 2011 Fern Creek High School grad, where he placed for Curtis Higgins prior to playing at UofL and Murray State. Harrington was also a member of the 2010 All-BluegrassPreps.com Team for football.

Congratulations! I hated to see Shawnee come open but at least it’s because their coach was hired someplace else and not just abandoning them. As for Western, I saw them once last year and they had some talent and size. I’m not sure they’ll be great (Louisville schools tend to ebb and flow quickly) but he’s not walking into a ghost town.
