Coach Pierce, an Edmonson County High School graduate, earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in physical education from Western Kentucky University. He began his career at Warren Central High School where he worked as assistant football and girls basketball coach. In 1999, he returned to Edmonson County High School. From 1999 to 2003, Coach Pierce served as assistant boys basketball coach, and in 2004 he took over as the head football coach. He held that position for twelve years, winning the district championship in 2011. He was recognized as Kentucky’s Overall Coach of the Year in 2011 by the Kentucky Football Coaches Association. In 2011, Coach Pierce took on the role of athletic director, holding that position through the 2020-21 school year. He was named 3rd Region Athletic Director of the Year in 2019. Coach Pierce brings a wealth of experience and success to the program. As a veteran coach, Kyle understands how to motivate young athletes, build community support, and create an environment that will allow our program to grow for years to come. Coach Pierce is an outstanding football coach and leader with a proven record of success.
