UK improvements

UK is showing improvement. Meeks, Porter, and Jasper seem to be getting better all the time. The defense is getting better. I think the team is showing effort and honestly Woo and Sheray are doing some good stuff while in the game. Now, the 3 players who need to start showing consistently particularly on offense is Crawford, Bradley, and Perry. Bradley is scoring, but his % isnt very good and he makes to many TOs.

Bradley should phone Hollywood and see if Eddie Murphy needs a stunt double.

I think Charlie Murphy has that job reserved.

Then I'll be more than happy if UK plays the same terrible defense the rest of the year.

Man U of L wqas 3 for 20 from 3 point land and at least half of those were uncontested. You're arguing something that isn't really an arguement. Not unless you think guarding the perimeter is just pointless. It'd be great defense against 4th graders who can't shoot from outside, but good shooting college teams will torch you with that.

Don't get me wrong, I know some shots should have been contested better, but UL is not a good shooting team. Don't you think that maybe, just maybe Tubby wanted to give up some 3 point shots and if they hit some then adjust the defense?

I do not know that for sure, but thats what I think. We did a great job on keeping UL from scoring around the basket I thought, with the exception of Padgett.

Against U of L you can. They couldn't hit anything and yes the defense was terrible.

Maybe since Uof L wasn't hitting the three they were supposed to let them shoot until they started making the threes.Makes since to me.Everyone complains about teams not guarding Jasper because of no threat to score from outside and its ok.When we don't guard the outside shot on a team that couldn't make one out of ten then some people think we should be guarding them instead of being inside.:irked:

Louisville didn't did they? They weren't playing a team that was going to torch them.:thumb:

Lets not get to carried away here. Not much will change until Tubby leaves.

All teams can improve on the court someway.

UK will improve more and more with Jasper and Porter at the point, and not Ramel.

The biggest and most inconsistent problem Kentucky has had all season is turning the ball over. Against lesser teams not as big of a problem being we can get away with it, but the biggest problem that needs to be corrected is the turnover situation against good teams. It may be getting better, but then again we won't know for sure untill we start playing talented teams once again. I haven't looked at the exact stat line, but I'm sure Kentucky's assist/turnover ratio is probably one of the worst in the country, and Its hard to take down solid teams when you rank low in that category

The improvements are minor, but they're there. Fundamentals are a little more sound, shot selection better, better ball movement, etc. Remember, we've still got 2/3 to go!

They aren't playing top ten teams. They played good against UCLA and they played ok against UNC. If they were playing top ten teams they'd be losing. Santa Clara and U of L are barely D1. I can shoot 3's left-handed better than the Cards shot them against us and it wasn't the defense. UK is not playing better or even noticably getting better, they are playing worse teams.

I honestly skipped over every other one of your posts after I read the bolded section. You lose lots of credibility with statements like that.

UK has improved in many areas since game 1. There shot selection is getting tons better, they are making a drastically larger effort to get Morris touches on almost every trip down court, they are slowly but surely starting to make smarter decisions and take care of the ball better, and lastly there defense has improved tremendously since the beginning of the year.

I tend to measure teams' progress by watching a number of games, not just one. Over the last few games, against good and bad shooting teams, UK has held opponents to a very low FG percentage. That's not argument or conjecture, that's fact.

I like how the other 82 percent just doesn't bother posting anymore. U of L is horrible and played worse than horrible agaisnt KY. Santa Clara is a joke. To say the freshman are getting better is a joke. Better against Santa Clara than UNC? Wow thanks captain obvious. Is Jasper better than he was against UCLA? Meeks played well against U of L, but does one game against sub-par competition mean you've improved? Morris has been getting the ball as much as possible since day one. UK's efense is OK, but their offense relies heavily on the 3-point shot and Randolph Morris being on the floor. They still dribble way too much, the still have stupid TO's, Morris will be in foul trouble at some point and time this year. With the way the scholarships were changed a few years ago there is a ton of parity. U of L is as bad as they've been or worse than they've been since Pitino has taken over. They're terrible. I don't know much about Santa Clara other than they're a 15 seed in the tourny every year and they are mid-major, but they shouldn't play KY at KY anywhere within 25 points. KY is in a better position than they were last year and I think they can compete with some top 10 teams, but saying they have gotton better after playing a few top 100 teams in a row is a joke. Beat someone in the top ten and we'll talk about being better but right now we're 0-3 against UCLA, UNC, and Memphis and if we played those 3 teams again we'd lose at least 2 of the games and probably all 3.
