Paintsville vs. Johnson Central Predictions/Updates (15th Region Championship)

Two of eastern Kentucky's finest football schools can get it done on the hardwood, as well. Crosstown rivals JC (21-3) and Paintsville (14-8) square off for a shot at Rupp. They've met three times this season, with the Golden Eagles claiming the two regular season games before the Tigers snatched the district crown.

Cory VanHoose and Isaiah May lead JC with around 17 ppg each, while Paintsville's Colby Fugate ranks among the 15th Region's top scorers with 21 ppg.

Game time is set for 7:30pm at Appalachian Wireless Arena in Pikeville.

A JC win would give them six region titles in the last ten years and the eleventh in the program's history. Paintsville hasn't won the 15th Region since 2008, but used to be a fixture at Rupp Arena from the mid 80s through the late 90s. The Tigers have nine region championships all-time.

Paintsville hasn’t won since their coach Landon Sloan played.  That 2008 team was tough!  Landon was a great competitor.
