Not a surprise at all.

Woodford came in as the #1 seed in the district and Anderson as the #5 (last) seed, but the Bearcats had some things in their favor...

- Though Woodford won the regular season matchup, it was close - and it was very early in the season.    Close enough that Anderson certainly felt that they could compete, and a loss that gave Anderson the motivation.

- Anderson had been playing better of late, splitting their final 8 games.   Woodford had been struggling heading into the postseason, losing 7 of their last 9.

- Woodford had not played since March 6th.

Congrats to Bryan Hyatt and the Bearcats!   

So far Woodford has not fared much better in the 8th region than they did in the 11th.

Wild ending.  Bearcat Tristan Staley scored on a nice 10 footer in the lane with 2.3 seconds to give them a 41-39 lead.  After a couple of timeouts, Woodford drove the ball to half court and hit a banked in three but their coach had signaled for a timeout prior to the shot.  Put 1.3 seconds back on the clock and Anderson’s Carson Wooldridge picked off a lob to the goal to seal the win.
