I made the following statement a week ago...

Morgan County is a lot better than most folks realize. They've made great progress in just the week since they stumbled in their opener with West. I wouldn't be surprised if they thump East and West before Christmas. :thumb:

The Cougars played East to within two, and beat West by five. Not a "thumping" either way, but not a "surprise" either. :thumb:

 

The Cougars are better than most realize, and are improving.

They will be fine by middle of season. Too good of a coach to slide that bad.

Morgan got a much needed win on Monday night. Katlin Haney got hot in the 2nd half and drilled some three's that the Cougars greatly needed. Wes Montgomery gave the Cougars a huge spark as he was everywhere defensively, getting a couple offensive boards, stickbacks, his athleticism helps. Henderson played well off bench and Young a couple jumpers and provided a lift.

 

Both teams couldn't shoot very well and the Cougars still must get consistent scoring.

 

However, the Cougars have improved and are taking steps forward. I fully expect this team, to be the regions most improved and have several quality wins before tournament time.
