Kansas latest team to have positive COVID-19 test out of Big 12 semis

Featured Replies

Kansas is now the latest to have to drop out of the conference tournament. This is starting to become a major issue I’m afraid for the NCAA.

At this rate we should just have a thread for all the teams getting knocked out of their tournaments by COVID.

Well that should save Kentucky in fending off the Jayhawks for most all-time wins... this year.

  • They are up 16 according to Wikipedia not sure if its up to today's date but should still be good even if the Jayhawks were to rattle off 6 straight and win this years title. However another year like this one and it would for sure be in jeopardy.

Those teams that drop out of conference tourneys cold be eligible for the NCAA's if they're good enough and Covid-free enough, correct?

Yes 7 straight days with no positives so the NCAA committee would have to place them to play on Friday they would be good once in Indy they can continue to participate as long as they have 5 players available.

Tournament starts on Friday this year.  So they could play on Friday or Saturday.

Isn't the first weekend Friday - Monday?  I thought I remembered seeing that about a month ago.

That was entering the year. Kansas is five behind right now. They would have to win the title to catch them now.

I wonder if they will lose any when the NCAA makes final decision about them. I wasn't sure if they take away wins or not.
