B-Ball-fan 2,543 Posted February 25 The Holmes Bulldogs travelled to Ft. Thomas tonight to take on the Highlands Bluebirds, and while it was mostly a close game from start to finish, the Dogs just couldn’t contend with the 17 team 3’s that fell for the Birds tonight. Muller and Herald connected on 8 apiece, and Barth had 1. The Bulldogs did a good job on the boards tonight, and with 2nd chance points, and points in transition, but trading 2’s for 3’s just wasn’t going to get it done. The Dogs might’ve connected on about 3 or 4 3’s on the night. At the end of 1 it was Highlands up 20-16 At the Half Holmes was in the lead 38-37 The Bulldogs did have a 10 point lead toward the end of the 2nd quarter until Muller connected on 3 3’s in a row to end the half. More 3’s kept raining down in the 3rd period seeing the Birds begin to pull away ending the quarter up by 9, 64-55. With as many 3’s as the Birds kept connecting on, the Bulldogs amazingly kept within reach, and never got down by more than the 10 point final margin. Final was Highlands 88 Holmes 78 Muller for the Birds ended that night with 30, Herald had about 26 maybe 28, Vinson was close to 20, Barth was close to 10. For the Bulldogs Quantez Calloway and L.C. Brown both had to have had 20+ apiece with Elmer somewhere in the area of 12-15. These of course are the unofficial stats as I was just loosely keeping track as I went along.
Bird Bath 207 Posted February 25 When you are hot from 3 tough to beat; interior defense and boards are going to hurt the Birds chances in the 9th! It looks like a 4 team race. Tourney time will be fun!
THUNDERBIRDS 134 Posted February 25 One of Sam Vinson’s 4 Dunks but this has to be at the Top. FullSizeRender.mov
Jack of all Trades 1,413 Posted February 25 Birds show they can win without Sam, who sat most of second half with foul trouble. If this team shoots like they have the last two nights they have a real good chance to bring home the bacon.
HSBballfan1212 61 Posted February 25 Didn't see Harris get in the game who is probably their best interior defender and would've helped on the rebounding side as well. Any info?

Any info? DNP. Not sure the reason. Bryson Cody looks to have a boot on.
