The Colts (1-2) are hosting the (3-1) Colonels on Friday. This is going to be the third Top 20 competitor of the season for DeSales, whose two losses came to #5 Elizabethtown and #19 Trinity. Covington Catholic's trip to Louisville on Friday makes their second big road trip of the week, after losing in an overtime thriller to North Laurel on Tuesday in London. #15 North Laurel was Cov Cath's first ranked opponent of the season.

I'm interested to see how Cov Cath handles 6'10" DeSales big man Sekou Kalle, who's committed to Akron. He's currently averaging 19 points and 12 rebs a game for DeSales. PG Devin Perry is averaging just over 16 points and 5 rebs per game.

Both the JV and varsity games will be on the NFHS Network.

St.X beat them 60-45 so Cov Cath should handle them.

I just checked in on the NFHS broadcast of the JV game, and the teams are just shooting around on the court...so I'm going to assume that means it's halftime.

Score is currently showing 39-21 Cov Cath.

JV: 54-32 Cov Cath at the end of 3Q.

They haven't archived the game yet to be able to go back and watch, but I believe the final score I saw for JV was 67-49 Cov Cath.

So far, CC has had a hard time dealing with Kalle. Kalle is much better than he was last year. He doesn't foul as much this year. If the Colts guards could learn to deal with CC's press & they can find the best way to feed Kalle then DeSales might have a chance.  CC does look pretty good though!

 

CC has three or four players with three fouls in the 3rd quarter.
