You know, I think I know what will settle all of this. Somerset Plays their 3A schedule, and plays Middlesboro, Corbin, and Leslie Co. in 3 of the non district games. If they win all three, this shuts all of us up, if they win two..SHS point made. If they loose two or all three, the rest of the world is right and jumper fans stand corrected!

Good luck to all of the teams that we have had the pleasure of competing with for the past few years in the mountains and hopefully we will be seeing each other again down the road. As for Cole, I just hope he plays football in college. As dominant as he was in football this season he has just as much potential to be that great in baseball. He also comes from an amazing family. Sister ran track at Arkansas, one brother played basketball at Transy, another brother is currently playing baseball for Georgia Southern (all products of the Somerset athletic program :ylsuper:). I have no doubt that whatever this kid decides to do he will excel. He is also very smart young man. He has a 4.0 so far through high school, and Chief correct me if I am wrong but I heard somewhere that he scored a 30 on his ACT.

For everyone that thinks Somerset is playing up due to easier class I would like to mention some of the "easier" teams they will have to face if they get in the playoffs year in and year out. Paducah Tilghman, E-town, Breathitt County, Russell and Belfry to name a few. All of these schools are much bigger but more importantly have greater numbers out for football than do the Jumpers.

 

It is always easy to question someones motives and see what you want to see when you don't want to see all of the facts.

Honestly, agreed. We couldn't beat ya so we hated and that was wrong. It's a situation where you are the class and everybody wants to beat ya...if they can't they try to beat ya down. I'm done with that. One thing about SHS, we saw some of the best athletes you can imagine over the last 3years in Single A...Newell, Norman, Cole, Deaton just to name a few. It was great to compete against those guys. We made it close a couple of times, won one and got blew out twice. I'd say we competed as good or better than anyone in District 7.
