East Carter at Russell Predictions/Updates (3A Playoffs)

Covid robbed the Red Devils and Raiders of a regular season game in Grayson, but the playoffs will bring them together in Russell. The home team got a much needed, confidence boosting win at Raceland to close out the regular season, while East Carter quietly crept into the 3A RPI top 10 with a win over Boyd County in its regular season finale.

The Raiders feature the backfield tandem of Jacob Underwood and Charlie Terry, while Russell has taken to the air more this year than perhaps ever before.

Russell holds an overwhelming 31-1 lead in the all-time series. That lone win for East Carter came all the way back in 1997, but perhaps they can draw some inspiration from their neighbors in Olive Hill, who orchestrated a breakthrough win over Russell a few weeks ago.

No inspiration will be drawn. Raiders aren’t anywhere near that level of football this year. Red Devils win very comfortably.

RPI really liked East Carter this season but I'm not sure why. Beyond a close win over a decent Fleming County team there isn't much meat on the bone. Blowout losses to West Carter and Ashland make me think this one gets out of hand early.
