Class 4A has seemingly been a two horse race this year, with two or three additional teams emerging as potential threats to upset the apple cart. Russell County (4A #8) is not one of those teams… at least not yet. The Lakers join JC, Boyle, and Central as the last remaining unbeatens in the class, but Coach Ryan Richardson's squad is still very much a mystery team. They don't have a single win over a ranked opponent, though that could change this week.

Russell County will take its 6-0 record on the road at 3A #9 Taylor County to tangle with one of 3A's hottest teams. The Cardinals have reeled off six straight wins, following a six point setback to Mercer County back in Week 2. Chief concern #1 for Russell County should be containing running back Wes Oliver, 3A's leading rusher.

Both of these teams have momentum on their side, but only one gets to carry it into the playoffs.

I’m going with Russell Co here I think they are better than most people realize.

Oliver proves to be too much in this one. Give me Taylor County.

I believe this game was canceled, which is a shame because I'd like to see these two teams play. Both have quietly had very good seasons.
