Covington Catholic 38 Simon Kenton 3

Featured Replies

The Colonels defense finishes up the month of October with a single touchdown and 10 total points scored on them.

Congratulations to Coach Eviston on his 100th win as a head coach - combining his 35 wins at Newport Central Catholic and 65 wins at Covington Catholic.

Cov Cath honestly lacked their luster a little bit tonight, but Caleb Jacob had a nice night. He went 20-30-1 for 230 yards and 2 touchdowns. Would have been 3 touchdowns if it weren't for the no-call on an obvious defensive interference immediately in front of a ref in the end zone in the second half, but oh well. Another 21 yards on his feet.

Caleb is 89-147 passing for 1210 yards and 10 TDs this season. 7 interceptions. 290 yards rushing and 7 rushing TDs.

Nice to see so many underclassmen contributing. Some really good football players in the junior and sophomore classes.

That is just it and the difference from years past. Also a promising future coupled with some Frosh who can help in a big way next year.

I actually thought we played well to go up 35-3 in the third. Minus the pick, it’s tough to ask for more in the first 2.5 quarters. I thought Caleb threw it well and Schneider and Reardon gave you good games.

They gave up some completions and first downs on defense, but if you aren’t giving up big plays, most high school (or even college) offenses are not going to string together 7 or 8 completions on a drive to score.

Correct, from what I’ve heard, I think we’ll have least 5 or 6 Sophs either starting or playing a ton next year.

Have to agree:

Offense- touchdowns on 4 of 5 1st half drives with the one drive ending in a INT that was returned to the 5 yard line. Defense-only points given up were off that same interception where SK moved it 2-3 yards on 3 plays and CCH forced a FG.
