Doesn’t make sense to play this week if red but not next week, but I’m good with them playing this week.

Never know what’s going to happen in regards to sports when this board gets together.

6:53pm and they have finally come out of executive session to begin the public session. Live stream began 83 minutes ago.

The board is currently moving to vote on whether or not JCPS will participate a class action suit against manufacturers of opioid pain killers and vaping products.

Superintendent Pollio noted that Jefferson County is in red. Says sports are "in jeopardy" right now.

Dr. Pollio:

"Clearly we know we went into the red, so we have seen that it is in jeopardy for next week. And so on the chart that has the county as red, it recommends that we suspend all athletics. And so as we do that, we will follow that. We will monitor closely Thursday night. We are in collaboration with KDE right now about state championship tournaments next week, and we will talk with KDE over the next couple of days - and KHSAA - to see how to progress on those. We obviously know we have winter and spring sports ahead. We will bring those recommendations to you as well, but you know we will follow the KHSAA and KDE guidelines moving forward on those."

I’d be interested in what plan is for those Championship tournaments next week.

Kolb wants further measures to society to help cut down cases to get school back in person and doesn’t see in person school the rest of this year. He has said in past would like to see another lock down.
