Cincinnati Reds - Dick Williams has Resigned

Saw on the Reds Twitter that Dick Williams has resigned as their President of Baseball Operations.

Surprising, to me at least.

Depending on the replacement, this could be a train wreck for the Reds going forward.

They would have to try really,  really hard to find someone worse at that job than Williams.

My problem this year was with the coaching.  I thought Williams did OK building a team that was ready to make a run.  It just didn't happen.  I'm thinking the Reds will take some steps backwards now.

Looks like he had this conversation with Bob back in August, so it's not a simple knee-jerk reaction to the playoff losses.

It will be interesting to see who they move into that position, because I thought Williams had started to make strides in modernizing the Reds.  To scrap all of that could be horrendous.
