An unfathomable 0-2 start by Mayfield was averted by a strong second half effort against Graves County. The Cardinals (1-1) trailed 14-0 in the second quarter before running off 24 straight points and clamping down on the Eagles' offense.

Union County (0-1) got a last second replacement for a previously cancelled game in Week 2. The Braves fell behind Crittenden County 21-0 before putting a pair of scores on the board and making the Rockets sweat a little. Ultimately, the Braves were defeated 28-12.

It might be asking too much for the Braves to make the Cardinals sweat this week, even with Mayfield not at the level of previous years. This is the first meeting between the two schools since 2006.

Mayfield BIG!

Mayfield should win this game.

They need to keep improving in all area's.
