One of the more puzzling scores from Week 1 was Scott County's 7-6 win over Bryan Station. The Cardinals (1-0) had owned the series over the last several years, but Station nearly closed that gap in one night. Two-thirds of the Cardinals' offense came from running back Montago Jones, who rushed for 134 yards and the winning score.

Whether or not this result says more about the Cardinals or Defenders remains to be seen, but opponents on Scott County's schedule are surely hoping that Jim McKee's team is vulnerable this year.

One of those opponents is Great Crossing (0-1), a program whose first game ever was a 72-7 drubbing by Scott County last year.  A Warhawks win might be asking too much, but is being more competitive this year still beyond their reach?

If this were a literal bird war, you'd easily take the Warhawk 10/10.

But.... being that this is a football game and not a fight to the death between animals, I'll predict another Scott County running clock.

Seriously, though, I'm hoping for marked improvement for GC in year two.

I like Scott County big. I do think Bryan Station is a improved team and maybe Scott County a little down compared to past.

Scott will win easy bit it will be interesting to see of its as bad as last year.

It's 35-12 Scott County, nearing halftime.

Looks like Great Crossing has made some good strides in just one year since Scott Co. defeated them last year 72-7.

It's 35-18 Scott County, early in the 3rd quarter.
