For the moment, Campbell County is down but will be better by spring. Next year, they may be very good. As for Mr. Reitz, what I do know of him I will take him any day of the week over what Campbell has had over the past 30 years!

From what I saw, Reitz is getting as much support as Schlarman and Roberts did. Time to go Coach, we need new blood in there to really work with our kids......

Time to move on. Both these guys did a better job than their predecessor and deserve respect and credit. Let's not keep bringing up the past and that goes to all the people in all the sports at Campbell. Many of us are bored by it and the students do not really care.

Trails, it appears to me that you are happier when you are bashing than when trying to help. I don't know why you have all this hostility. I saw the superintendent at the game down by the bench, even sitting with the girls coach for a bit. If he can be supportive and move on why not you. Schlarman and Roberts did a great job while they were here. The programs were better on the day they left than when they got here. That speaks to their credit. They left and went on to what they thought were better positions. We should be happy for both and wish them well. We should be happy for the coaches and players that go out every night trying to make CC a better school. Reitz is a class coach, remember the superintendent hired him while he was still principal. I think Reitz will be at CC as long as he wants, and if that is the case then basketball will be better.

I have to agree with the majority of the Campbell posters on here. Campbell simply got beat by the better team last night!! This senior BBHS bunch has been beating their Camel counterparts since grade school, and there's no reason to think things would change now. The "Beat Brossart" Shirts might have been a good fund raiser, but only added to the will of the Mustangs. Don't bash Coach Reitz, as if you'd do your homework, the team he fielded last night was essentially the same team that the Brossart JV's (primarilly Kramer, Rebholtz, Niemeyer, Lloyd, etc.) beat three times last year; without their senior compadres Uebel, Kidney, Cooper and Mutsch who were busy at the Varsity wars. He's a good coach and you should be happy to have him, plus you've now got a Mustang on the staff in Coach Enzweiler, who seems to be bringing some "D" to Claryville (see JV game). The Camels have some real athletes, but simply hadn't seen a defense like they saw last night. They'll be fine, and will improve as the season goes on!! Good luck to the Camels the rest of the way, at least until they may meet the 'Stangs again!!

PS: Hat's off and Great Game to Kenny "Sky" Walker last night--Keep believing in yourself, and by all means--Keep Shooting!!

Coach Reitz is an old pro and Campbell County should consider themselves fortunate to have him.

A coaching merry-go-round does not bring success, it only adds to the confusion. Stability, fundamentals, hard-work, and talented athletes are the recipe for success!

Kudos from this corner also to the often much-maligned Kenny Walker. I saw a similar shooting performance from him back in last year's Bluegrass-Buckeye when the Camels were being thumped by Elder at NKU. Walker was a bright spot in that game popping out and hitting the perimeter jumpers, and put on a repeat performance Saturday night in the "cross-town."

What was impressive was that he was able to "stand up and deliver" against his old school chums, who in the past he would have been totally intimidated by. I think that this shows a great deal of mental maturity from the big senior, who just now seems to be coming into his own.

To most of us, the Camels are not our hated enemies - they are our rivals and our opponents. Coach Willie Schlarman used to have a philosophy that if players chose not to come play for us that they would pay the price of being beaten by us. This has proven true in the BB-CC rivalry now for the past five consecutive years, and seven of the last ten years.

It doesn't mean that we don't like to see "one of our own" succeed - we just prefer that it happen against others than our Mustangs. ;)

Actually, I think Campbell County has its teachers on the staff for the basketball team. Matter of fact, I think Campbell County has a teacher on the Brossart basketball staff as well!:thumb:

Must be a great place to work that pays well.

I'm sure its a great place to work, but I was referring to someone who actually PLAYED in the Mustang system, but I'm sure you knew that. Best of luck to the Camels the rest of the season!!

Just curious, who was in charge of the game programs. There was a fair amount of errors in player listings. Especially in the girls roster.

Probably the same guy (gal) who decided to charge the students $6.00 each night, and not give them a discounted student rate, or at least a slecial priced "weekend pass"!! :D

Knowing Coach Reitz from Central Kentucky, I doubt you will find somebody that will work with "your kids" as well as he does.....What type of support are you talking about?

I'd have to agree. Not many coaches put in as much time for kids as he does. Is he still umpiring baseball?

Brossart's AD?
If you knew the answer - why did you ask the question.

I was copied on the rosters that Campbell sent over to go in the program about two weeks ago. I'm sure that he published what he was sent.

That's a joke and a slap in the face to their predecessors.....

Willie-1 regional title at Brossart.

Sullivan-1 regional title at CC.

Reitz and Code have zero and Brossart is the 3rd best team in the region and I don't think they match up well with 1 or 2.
