Yes I believe so. This is their first year as Martin Co. but to my knowledge Sheldon Clark was the only school in Martin Co. I know KHSAA only shows their this season.

Correct. Sheldon Clark was a consolidation of Inez and Warfield back in the 1970s.

 

Really cool to see Martin County make it to Rupp. That school/county has been through quite a bit over the last few years. Glad to see them have success!

Correct. Same school. Same mascot.

 

Something even more unusual is the Laurel County to South Laurel conversion after the new school, North Laurel, opened. Laurel County Cardinals didn’t even change buildings, gym, mascot names or anything. All that changed was they added “South” in their name. But for some odd reason the KHSAA identifies them as two different schools in their state tournament records, with Laurel County winning a state title and South Laurel winning one. It doesn’t make sense to me.
