The BGP #2 Colonels head to Berning Gym tonight to face the Bombers (11-4; 1-2 GCL-S).

 

Cross river pundits and MaxPreps agree, ranking St. X 7^th among DI teams in Cincinnati. Three of the Bombers losses (Princeton, Lakota East and LaSalle) have been close. Their fourth was by 16 points at the hands of Ohio #1 Moeller last Friday.

 

Senior forward Hank Thomas and junior guard Kobe Rogers will lead the X-men. Both are within the top five in the GCL in points, rebounds and steals. Unknown is the status of Danny Grieve (Sr. F), a starter for their first eight games. He has been out of action for a month now.

 

Coach Mike Noszka is in his first year at St. X, coming from Wilmington HS (OH). The Colonels last met a Noszka coached team in the 2015/16 season (a 2 pt. loss in Park Hills). The Hurricanes went on to the Ohio DI semis in ’16.

This will be a whole lot better game than it was 5 or so years ago, when CovCath used to roll a very down Bomber team. This one will be a great test, especially with Ohio officials.

Yes, that was the 2nd year of a home-and-home that was nothing short of awesome. The year before, CovCath won a close game in Wilmington, with Jaevin Cumberland as a senior and Jarron as a junior -- was an awesome game! The next year, Jarron Cumberland, now a senior, leads Wilmington to a 2 point win in a packed CovCath gym -- everyone, again, got their money's worth.
