Mason loses their fifth one point game this season by yet again not making winning plays in crucial times. Mason up one makes first FT and misses second. Then Mason fouls and Holmes makes first and misses second. Mason can not come up with rebound with 9 seconds. Holmes throws ball in against Mason zone and yet he drives right through the middle of the zone and hit a floater in the lane. Another loss out of the jaws of victory.

Here is a referee question. When did they stop calling a walk when a player dives on a ball on the floor and gets the ball and slides about ten feet on the floor? He was given a timeout and no walk called. How do you travel ten feet on the floor without a dribble?

You can slide 90 feet and it isn't a walk if you dive on the floor for a loose ball. However, you can't roll over or try and get up.

No pivot foot established when you are diving on the floor for a loose ball. You can slide as far as you slide, no travel, just don't then roll over.

It seems even rolling over is often being missed this year....in the 8th Region, I've seen this at least twice this year....a player diving on a loose ball, then rolling over to face the official to call time out. No walk called. Saw it most recently on Saturday in the Henry County Classic. Clear violation in both cases.

 

Oh well. They can't catch them all.... :meh:

Just seems like most all officials have gotten very lax with the traveling violation this year.
