:confused: :confused: I absolutely do not believe these comments. Griffy's job is to play baseball where the manger sees fit for him to play..................PERIOD! I for one did what my boss told me to do to the best of my ability regardless if it made me happy or not. You see, I wanted to keep my job, pay my bills and support my family. That is just the way things work unless you are self employed and even then you have someone to answer to and produce for, be it customers-other providers or who or whatever. I admire Griffey for not taking all his money at once to free up some for the team/mangement but he is being paid that money, just over a longer stretch of time. I really think that I could make it on his "cut salary":eek: . I agree with others in that he should have been consulted more (maybe) but it boils down to playing baseball is his job. If he doesn't want to play where the manger sees fit then I say "don't let the screen door hit him where the good Lord split him" on his way out. I like your use of verb tense and putting this in future tense. He takes the "nah-baby-nah" route and it is putting himself ahead of the team. Present tense is simply the coaches showing one of the team leaders and a person who has shown over and over and over that he treats the Reds and his fans with respect and goes out of his way to do wonderful and generous things with some of the same respect.

Like not staying with the team while he rehabbed one of his many injuries? Like coming to the park early to do rehab and not sticking around while the team showed up for the game? Like not running out grounders or pop ups for fear of injury?

Same venom for Freel, Harang and the others who did not show either. Jr was there either last year or the year before.

The whole thing with Jr is that he makes the most and he has been battling injuries so he is an easy target for you.

Jr. sat out a pennant race that he could have helped the Reds win. Forget about it, he's done IMO.

I'm curious to hear the comments on Griffey of the recently departed Jason Larue and Rich Aurilia, who have never shyed away from the microphones. I'll bet they don't get a Christmas card in the mail from the Griffey family.
