Bell has thrown pretty successfully, their QB is as good of a true triple option QB as you will find in KY.

 

Belfry only attempted one pass and if there were more clock they would not have tried it.

Pretty even game except for special team errors. I thought it was a little early to be chasing points. But glad to see a good game so far.

Been a good half for Belfry. They need to put this first drive in the end zone coming out of half to put pressure on Bell County. Bell County has showed they can stop Belfry yet.

Story so Far:

Belfry has controlled the ground save their first drive that fizzled after a penalty. Dixon has been dominant and if not for a holding call inside the 10 it is probably a 21-12 game. Bell has to adjust to Dixon as the second man through, big chunks so far and when Dixon gets space he is dynamic.

 

Bell County could not get it going their first two drives, but then settled in behind the excellent duel threat ability of Stephney and put two beautiful drives together mixing the run and the pass. Belfry I felt got a little too cute trying some different packages and looks against Stephney, The yards between tackle have been hard to come by, but Stephney has made plays tucking the ball or late in the RPO read that have hurt Belfry including a long scramble to set up a TD.

Belfry gets the ball and if they can find the end-zone it will put a ton of pressure on bell to hold serve. Knock on wood, but both teams have protected the ball well. Bell had one play that may or may not have been a fumble on a pass down the line of scrimmage. The refs let them play on and it appeared Belfry had a huge turnover, but the refs convened and ruled it incomplete. Bell went on to score that drive.

 

It was close.. but I think it was the right call, FWIW.

He can play WR at most schools. He is fast and makes plays. Being a HS QB helps that transition and he makes it look effortless. His big runs it’s like he lulled the D to sleep then zoom hit the jets.
