2007 3A Football

Featured Replies

It was known and discussed before all the re-classification started that their enrollment had been steadily decreasing. There was a slight feeling even then, that they were going to drop to 2A in the 4 Class system.
It was starting to look like Tilghman might have been back in the old 3A, perhaps as the smallest school in the class, as the enrollment went back up a bit. With Class A having more teams assigned to it than the rest, in the initial draft, Tilghman got dragged down to 3A. They certainly aren't complaining about it.

They will have alot of talent. I look for somewhat of a slow start while they are still trying to put people in the right positions. The strength next year should be along the line of scrimmage. They have a good mix of size and speed to make up that front seven.

With Clark graduating look for more of a committee aproach at RB, with Jones being the main option either at QB or RB.

Defense should be strong, but IMO the toughest loss will be Wills at LB. I'm not sure you could find a replacement for what he gave. Besides being a great player, he was a coach, a cheerleader and the heart of one of the bests defenses around.

I think after four or five games they will be very good. Maybe good enough to make another run at a title.

With Wills coaching this year, I'm sure he will mentor someone to step up and lead the defense. Wills will be missed more than any single player on the defensive side of the ball. I'm sure coach Morris has that individual identified.

Russell has never had a problem finding capable Running backs. Russell very well could have two 1000 yard rushers next year.
