October 13, 20196 yr Author Probably not the place for this question and I am taking a big risk even asking it because I don't know how people will try to characterize me for asking it, but, here is the question. Does anyone else find it ironic, even humorous in light of the ongoing discussions on BGP, that an OSU cast off is leading an SEC title contender and an SEC cast off is leading OSU in their title pursuit? I don’t think cast off is really the right word to describe Burrow or Fields.
October 13, 20196 yr Ha the only reason why OSU gets so much traffic is because of you OSU fans irrational over the top comments lol when it comes to OSU you can't have rational conversations with you all about them. As I have said many times it is not OSU most people hate, it is the fans. Quite honestly take away OSU talk from you and Grant and you all are very fun to talk to and give good insight. Anything involving OSU though with you guys and you all become different people haha. I admit I don't like OSU but is is because of most fans. Just like why many people hate UK is because of the crazy idiotic stuff my fellow UK bball fans say. Now just because I am not a fan of them, doesn't mean I don't recognize how freaking good they are this year. Notre Dame won't be in it. So I would love to see a Oklahoma, OSU, Bama or LSU, Clemson playoff. That will be some exciting fun football to watch. We can’t deny that my brother. We’re the Kentucky basketball of college football. It’s a badge of honor in some ways. You wait though, when we lose, which I still predict 1 loss, you, Deuce, Jump and the others will lead a 10 page thread trashing us lol. We’re the coal on the CFB forum.

They couldn't get off the bench at their previous program, had to leave the program and transfer out to get a starting job. Cast off has a negative connotation was my point. In Fields case it was just pure incompetence from the UGA coaching staff. Burrow just happened to be at OSU the same time as the greatest QB in school history. Neither were, “cast offs”. Tate Martell was a cast off.

Three Georgia QB's during the Fromm years could very well be drafted in the first round. Eason, who lost his job to Fromm; Fromm; and Fields, who left Georgia because he could not beat out Fromm.

I would say there are very few people who would call that decision pure incompetence. I would say from a college production point of view, Eason is the worst. Because of that almost championship, from a team perspective at this point Fromm is the best. We will have to revisit that at the end of the year. If Fields gets OSU to the title game or wins a title, then he becomes the best.

But I’m going to go back and find the thread from last year, but I explicitly remember saying Fields was the best QB on the roster the second he stepped on campus in Athens. Fields is just different. As far as Eason goes he’s a more talented passer than Fromm. Production will vary because Fromm has the luxury of playing behind the best OL in the SEC. Based on pure arm talent, I’m taking Eason.

Pretty hard to take a guy out that isn’t doing anything to lose you games and replace him with a gunslinger type like Eason who is harder for an OC to reel in. Kirby is as conservative of a coach as there is in college football. He’s Kirk Ferentz with 5 stars at every position.
