The Houston starting QB and best WR, both seniors, have decided to redshirt after the loss to Tulane last Saturday. Houston is now 1-3, 0-1 with losses to Washington State and Oklahoma, as well as Tulane. Although King says he is returning to Houston and has Dana Holgorsen's full support with his decision, this smells like an entry into the transfer portal as soon as the season is over.

While I don't necessarily like that they are just quitting on their team because they are terrible, this is a by product of the red shirt rule. It wouldn't surprise me to see the rule changed because of this.

To me this is another reason why my interest in college football is as low as it has ever been.
