Coaching at Paris HS, I got to know Coach Bill Arnspager, who I regard as the top defensive coach in the history of football.... DC for the only undefeated Super Bowl Champion... ever..... the Miami Dolphins and was Head Coach at LSU. Coach Arnsparger coached against and knew all the big time guys in the 60s and 70s.... Lombardi, Starr, Shula, Sayers, Jim Brown, Night Train Lane, Nitschke, Butkus, Bear Bryant, etc.

 

Great football coach and even better person.

I don't know if this counts, but I shook Arnold Schwarzenegger 's hand once. I have been told he has some connections and knows some famous people.

When I was 12 I played on a traveling baseball team. One day we played in a tournament in Michigan and Jake Peavy was the pitcher. I struck out three times on a total of 11 pitches. The fourth time I grounded a ball up the middle for a single. Barry Bonds's career batting average against Jake Peavy is 242. Clearly I am a better hitter then Barry Bonds.

 

Six years ago I was at Avon Golf Course. I saw Dave Parker there. I was one hole ahead of him and my drive went farther then his. Clearly I have more hitting power then Dave Parker.

I spent part of a day with Buddy Ryan when I was about 13. I think that puts me pretty close to a few NFL guys.

A few years ago, my daughter got to sing the National Anthem at the opening of the big horse show at the Kentucky State Fair. We sat a couple of seats away from William Shatner.

 

I wanted to to have an in-depth discussion with him on the stature of T J Hooker as a groundbreaking enterprise in the television industry, but in the end, left him to his privacy.
