Super happy for Coach Herbst in his first game back against Bellevue, as well as the rest of the team, coaching staff, and Dayton supporters. Great overall team effort by Dayton tonight! Bellevue played well in the first half but Dayton took more control after halftime.

I agree with you about Marksberry. Matthews and Conley are nice running backs too, Matthews is a bigger up the middle type runner and Conley is a pretty fast runner too. They also have another one that’s good who didn’t take any snaps, at least I think. Dayton hasn’t been this deep at running back in quite a while. And they only have four seniors and Conley is one of them.

Matthews is definitely a big load. I’m thinking it’s Comstock you may be referring to about being the other back. I’m familiar with Connley as he played for Bellevue last year. Dayton just needs to clean up some nonsense penalties and messed up exchanges. I coached Jordan 1 year and it’s nice to see him manifest his talent on this stage.

That’s who he is, thanks for reminding me. I agree with your other points too. If they can play more disciplined consistently, I could see them winning a good amount of games.

Yes, I believe that it was the first game when they began playing two times during the season again and it was two years ago at Davis Field. Last night was the first time that Dayton has won at Bellevue in a long time, I'm thinking back when Deaton was coach the year after Lickert left was the last time they won in Bellevue, which had to have been more than ten years ago.

I'd like to forget that game myself, the first year for the paddle, so much hype, Guru was even there taking pictures, and we get waxed. 12 year run isnt bad. Solid run.
