Dudley and his Bell County team are facing some expectations that they haven’t faced for a few years. They kick off what many anticipate to be a very successful season by traveling to Danville to play Collins in the Bob Allen Pigskin Classic. Who wins?

This is an interesting matchup.

If Bell County is who we think they are, they'll take care of Collins. Yes, Collins returns a lot from last year, but this was a one win team. In my mind, Bell needs to at least win comfortably to justify its ranking.

After looking at the schedule from last year for Collins, Every team on the schedule had a winning record except the only team they did beat and North Oldham. I’m not sure what they return, but this could be a close game.

It might very well be a close game. And Collins should definitely be much improved this year. But if Bell wants to be taken seriously as one of the best teams in 3A, they need to look good on Friday. At least that's what I believe, anyway.

Now I agree with that! Bell needs to show me they won’t miss the Frazier kid.

I try not to judge anyone too harshly the first two weeks of the season, but Bell does need to play well considering that this is the only team with a pulse they have seen not named Corbin from the start of last year.

Anyone know how Collins looks?

I havent seen much on them, but from what I have seen:

- Across the board they don't really come across as too daunting. Decent size, but nothing great, across the lines. Good athletes, but not to the level we have seen from their program at other points.

- They have a really nice looking LB in the Webb kid. Prototype size for an OLB and makes plays. Besides Stephney, may be the second best player on the field. I think Bell may have players 3-7 though.

- They have two nice looking WR's in Stoner and Lee, but their production last year wasn't anything head turning. Lucas was their starting QB as a Sophomore and should be considerably improved, but he definitely struggled last season and had twice as many INT's as TD's and less than a 50% completion percentage.
