Of the years the AP has released a list of Mr. Football finalists, or have at very least published lists of players in the discussion for the award, here are the finalists for each of those schools:

 

Mayfield: Terral Starks (1997)

 

Covington Catholic: Mike Woolf (1987), Paul Hladon (1988), Adam McCormack (1992), Drew Ellison (2005), Kam Butler (2017), AJ Mayer (2017), Casey McGinness (2018).

 

Lexington Catholic: Justin Burke (2005), Domonique Hayden (2009)

 

Domonique Hayden attended Lexington Christian.

All of those schools since 2001 are D1 aren't they? If yes, that is a strong indicator that the winner will be a D1 commit, and most likely a Power 5 D1 commit.

I would add Wilson Kelly Dtackle from Boyle 115 Tackles and 25 for loss last year from nose. I agree with Octavius also. Those two are the two best Dtackles in KY and I'm a Belfry fan. LOL

Wilson Kelly is an absolute stud, he’s the strongest player to ever play for Boyle in the weight room and it shows on Friday nights.

I look for Hartz from OCath to have a huge year. He has better speed and athletes than in the last two years and it looks he's put on 20 more pounds. Unfortunately the only way he get in the Mr. F discussion is if they get to the 2A title game or some big time offers start coming in.

Two games of interest to keep an eye on tonight:

 

- Beau Allen leads his Knights into Pulaski County to face Jake Sloan and the Maroons

 

- John Young and CAL play host to Keaton Martin and South Oldham

Allen and Sloan could each be in for a big night. That game has shootout written all over it.
