Announced on the school's social media. Coach McQueary has stepped down after 15 years as the Rebels' head coach, and 31 years of coaching high school basketball.

Congrats to Coach McQueary on retiring. Arguably the most underrated coach in N. Ky. He did an excellent job at Boone County.

He had a very nice five year run. Since Cooper became a region power the Rebels have dipped a bit.

Does Ryan Bowman go back to coaching boys and leave his post as the girls coach to take this job?

Five years ago, this would have been a job almost every coach would have been interested in. Now, not so much. It is a big school so that will attract interest. They probably will end up with a young first time head coach versus an experienced coach. With all the uproar on teacher's pensions, I am not sure there is the incentive of moving from private to public any more either.
