U of L picked up another fine 16th Region female athlete when Chinwe Okora of Russell accepted a track scholarship. Although her superior ability in the discus and shot are well known, I would think that she would also be a good addition to the Lady Cardinal's basketball team where she would join Rose Hill's Kala Faulkner and Laura Terry.

 

From all reports, Okora is an excellent student and a first class young lady. She has been a force in area girls's basketball for a couple of years and has developed well under the fine coaching of Merle Kidwell.

 

Although I am a graduate of UK, I am quickly becoming a U of L fan. I'm sure all area partisans join me in wishing Chinwe the best.

Congratulations to a fine young lady! I'm telling you this,,,,,I'd take a 16th region all-star team versus any other region and I'd like my chances.

Congrats to another great young lady from the 16th. She is an amazing athlete and will be a success at whatever she chooses to do.

Nice to see this for Chinwe. I've met her several times at area track meets and she is a very nice young lady. As I recall, she also has a bunch of athletic siblings.
