Well deserved recognition for one of the finest basketball players (boys or girls) to ever come out of this area. She's a lot of fun to watch and an absolute force of nature on the court, especially when her perimeter shots are falling.

 

She's only the second Miss Basketball from the 16th Region, the other being West Carter's Penny Gearhart in 2003.

 

All that's left for Savannah to accomplish is bringing home a state title.

Congrats Savannah. One of the toughest players I’ve ever coached against.

Thanks just surprised me a little this seems like its earlier this year that prior years. I a glad to see someone form the 16th Region bring it home our first since Megan "Penny" Gearhart.

Prep Spin also had the awards show live last night. That's where I first heard it around 8:15 pm.
