I might be a rookie. But 63 posts since this past Saturday isn't too bad, in my opinion.

I saw some replays of it, theres was interference from a crossed signal and it kept showing re-runs of Scrubs on Comedy Central so I wasnt able to make an accurate assessment :walk:

I don't drink coffee. I hate it. Besides, I know somewhere on this site there are people that would read this and say "Hmm....interesting." But I end up talking to 5 or 6 people that say "shut up, crybaby."

Did anybody else see this on ESPN.com about the replay blunders from last season's Rose Bowl? It states in the article that on two seperate plays, the replay booth should have overturned the ruling on the field. In both cases Texas benifited. One play was when Reggie Bush lateralled the ball and it was fumbled and Texas recovered. The replay shows it was probably a forward pitch and should've been a dead ball penalty and USC should have kept it. Another one shows Young clearly down on his knee and the pitched the ball and Texas ended up scoring a td. Apparently the replay booth, when they tried to see the replay, got a video feed of fans in the stands and didn't see the camera angle that clearly showed Young's knee down. A similar thing happened on the Bush lateral. They didn't get the right video feed in order to see the best angle.

 

I knew it. I knew deep down that USC really won that game and I've lived with this agony of Texas winning for almost a year now. Of course, if USC had converted 4th down, this would be a mute point.

If you insist on going back and saying "if this hadn't happened," maybe Notre Dame should've stopped USC on 4th and 6 1/2 miles that they converted just before that. If they had done that, the whole goal line play would never have happened.

Your the one pointing out the article and taking ESPN's word for things - which by the way merely concludes that: "Parry said he doesn't believe officials on the field or in the replay booth made an egregious mistake, just a difficult judgment call." That's a far cry from saying it is obvious these were two horrible calls.

 

For the record, Texas may have still scored a TD despite the first one you mentioned that should have been blown dead. It's as big of a mystery as why Bush would lateral the ball on that long run. We will never know.

 

So am I insisting on anything? No, I'm just enjoying the Longhorn's Championship. :thumb:
