November 15, 200619 yr Did anybody else see this on ESPN.com about the replay blunders from last season's Rose Bowl? It states in the article that on two seperate plays, the replay booth should have overturned the ruling on the field. In both cases Texas benifited. One play was when Reggie Bush lateralled the ball and it was fumbled and Texas recovered. The replay shows it was probably a forward pitch and should've been a dead ball penalty and USC should have kept it. Another one shows Young clearly down on his knee and the pitched the ball and Texas ended up scoring a td. Apparently the replay booth, when they tried to see the replay, got a video feed of fans in the stands and didn't see the camera angle that clearly showed Young's knee down. A similar thing happened on the Bush lateral. They didn't get the right video feed in order to see the best angle. I knew it. I knew deep down that USC really won that game and I've lived with this agony of Texas winning for almost a year now. Of course, if USC had converted 4th down, this would be a mute point. November 15, 200619 yr Author Sounds like I touched a nerve. They're serving decaf now. I hear it's pretty good. You might want to try it. It appears as though you're too worked up in your post. I know about the ifs and buts. But you would think with as much preperation went into the game by the television crews that they would be able to show the replay booth a video feed from the game, not a bunch of fans.
November 15, 200619 yr No I hadnt had my coffee yet when I posted that:D, I've had it now, this topic would have been relevant a year ago, but since we are 6 weeks away from crowning a new Champ, I don't think it matters, I'm sure you can go back through every national championship game and find mistaken calls. It's part of the game, I'm sure 9 times out of 10 balence thereselves out. I'm not a USC fan, a semi Texas fan as I've spent time in Austin, But would rather see an SEC team or Penn State when the NC every year, I just don't care about talking about a game that happened a year ago. If it was that big of a stink, it would have been brought up a little more timely

If it was that big of a stink, it would have been brought up a little more timely Wow, I didn't think I could disagree as much with a person on teams that they like. I hate Texas and Penn State. I'm a semi USC fan. And I don't like enough teams in the SEC to care if they win. We're complete opposites. Yeah, I agree that it would've been relevant in January. But the story just came out on ESPN like, yesterday or something. I didn't think many people had heard it and I thought I might bring it to their attention. But if you read the last sentence I typed in my first post, "if USC had converted on 4th down it would be a mute point." So I realize that these plays didn't affect the outcome of the game so much. I just thought it was interesting that the replay booth couldn't actually see game footage.
