January 4, 20197 yr Not many regular season games deserve their own thread but this game was awesome. Warriors led by 17 at the half and 20 in the 3rd. Then Hardin got hot. He is unguardable. He might miss but you can't stop him from getting his shot. Hardin hits a 3 with under a minute to send it to OT. Then hits a ridiculous three to win it with 1 second left with Thompson on his side and Green in his face (maybe fouled him). Curry gave the W's the lead the possession before with a long 2 after Durant saved the ball on the worst non-call I have ever seen--he was out of bounds and had taken three steps out of bounds before saving it back in. Fun game to watch. It should be on NBA TV sometime this afternoon if you have that. Warriors shoot 52% from the field, hit 14-37 threes, 14-15 FT and lose. Rockets shoot 46% from the field, hit 21-54 threes, 24-28 FT. Hardin 44 pts, 15 ast, 10 reb (10-23 on threes) Capella 29 pts, 21 reb Curry 35 pts, 6 ast (14-27 FG, 5-15 threes) Thompson 26 pts (11-20 FG, 4-8 threes) Durant 26 pts, 7 reb (10-23 FG)
January 4, 20197 yr Harden is unguardable, especially when he can push off and travel a zillion times a game with no call.
January 4, 20197 yr Harden is on a tear like no other. Not a more boring player to watch than James Harden, but he is effective at his craft. I still can't wrap my head around the Thunder drafting Durant, Westbrook, and Harden in consecutive years.
January 4, 20197 yr I know people think Golden State is going to flip the switch, but the Draymond and KD fiasco continues to linger. Why is it that I should believe Golden State is going to figure out team chemistry? There is a reason the old Celtics teams are the only franchise to have a team return to the Finals five consecutive years. It is hard. This post will probably be motivation for them to knock off about 18 games in a row. Edited January 4, 20197 yr by bugatti

January 4, 20197 yr Picking the Warriors to win at this point would just be wishful thinking, IMO. Put aside the team chemistry stuff, Draymond is simply not good anymore. He was never a great shooter, but you at least had to give him some respect. He has lost all confidence. Klay has shot the ball horrendously (by his standards) this year. Not great depth either. Who knows what Boogie will be when he sees the court?

A lot of great teams have had friction on and off the court. As long as it doesn't affect the play on the court, they'll be fine. The real problem is Draymond has gone from a slightly below average shooter to a terrible shooter. The gap between the Warriors and the pack has been greatly exaggerated. Everyone forgets that the Rockets were a Chris Paul injury and the worst shooting performance in NBA history (by the greatest statistical offense in NBA history) from knocking out the W's in the conference finals last year. You're right about the grind of getting to five straight finals could be wearing on them too. If they are still the favorites to win it all, it's not by much.

They were on the ropes and should have lost last year had it not been for the Paul injury. Luckily they were going up against a guy in James Harden that continually comes up short when it really matters.
January 4, 20197 yr Game should have never come down to the game winning shot if the officials get their head out of their shorts. Durant saves a ball with virtually his entire body out of bounds. How does that happen?
