The Ohio State loss to Purdue meant that the bad Ohio State team could show up unexpectedly and that Notre Dame was more consistent throughout the year. That doesn’t prove Notre Dame is better. Okay, then it proved them more deserving than OSU. That work for you?

The conversation was always about who the best teams were 3-6. I don’t think it’s debatable that ND and OU were more deserving than Georgia and Ohio State. Better? That’s where the debate comes in. Hindsight is always 20/20. Personally I don’t think ND is as bad as they looked last night. Kelly is just overmatched when having to develop a game plan to go against a coach like Brent Venables. With a month to prepare, that mismatch was just extremely evident. If this game was played with a typical week to prepare it would have been closer. Debates like this are why sites like BGP exist. There is no right answer.

There is no right answer. Well, you and I are closer to agreement. However, look through the thread at the comments of how ND didn't belong. Just silliness based on personal dislike. To say they didn't belong when they went undefeated and, as you said, with a stronger schedule than the other three in the playoffs, is just ridiculous.
