Walton went 1-2. They lost to Brentwood in a consolation game. For some reason it isn’t on KHSAA yet.

Big difference between how Spencer County played this year compared to what Anderson did last year. Yes they went 0-3 but had a shot to win in every game. Losing to Ballard by 9, Madison Central by 3, and in overtime to South Miami. Talked to people all week from opposing fans and coaches and they were shocked that Spencer County could play like that. Spencer County had a very good showing and should reap the benefits of playing that level of competition moving forward. Senior Jacob Seawright made all tournament team with 31 pts vs Ballard, 24 vs Madison Central, and 26 against South Miami. Spencer County has alot of weapons.

Got to watch Collins and Walton Verona several games this week and the 8th region debate was put to rest for now. Collins is clearly the team to beat and is probably top 5 in the state.

The only difference really was one game Anderson got blew out by 30+ to Trinity but led most of the game vs Mercer Co. before losing by 1 point to a very good team led by Mr. Basketball Trevon Faulkner. They also led part of the game vs a very good Bowling Green team before losing by 7. Penny had 34 vs Trinity and 15 vs Mercer and 23 against Bowling Green. A difference but not really a Big difference just 1 game difference.

They played better than expected against a Ballard team that is still trying to figure out how to score, I’ll give you that. Then they lost to a team that was average at best, and capped it when they blew a 15 point second half lead and got held scoreless in their last game. How’s that progress?

Your the first person out of 50 that I talked to this week that had that assessment of Spencer County's play. Doesn't surprise me though. They impressed a lot of people. Also the teams they played are quite a bit better than you give credit.

I like the young Bears. They’re fun to watch. They move the ball to the open guy and let it fly. But they have 3 massive flaws. If they aren’t hitting shots, they can’t beat anyone. They have no depth, and none to develop. And have no size.

I am definitely not one to make excuses for any team. However Spencer has 6 players it can play and lost their 6th man, a guard to injury in the 1st half of the South Miami game. The kids hit a wall and the pressure that South Miami put on them forced them into way too many turnovers in the 3rd qtr. They definitely held there own and the tournament organizers were extremely happy with the team and their support.
