nothing fishy about it, the principal's son that transferred to Somerset moved and lived in the city limits; what is ironic though, the Perkins boys lived in city limits but choose to go to a county school??

 

So its Ok for students to live in the county ( Eagles Nest) and attend somerset, but if you live in somerset and attend county then you need a Court order to play?:irked:

I would consider the 14th the weakest region in the state by far. then after that I'm not sure.

?? not sure what you mean-but if this answers your question if you live in county and attend a city school, you have to have been grandfathered in by an older sibling that attended Somerset prior to new county school rule enforced by their administration that started in 1994/95 or you were put on a waiting list (only a certain amount of children living in county may attend city schools determined by county school contract), (or there are other legal ways to attend-by giving over parental rights to someone else(but i have no idea what went on w/court orders at Pulaski-) If you live in city limits than you may choose which school you want to attend. It's never really made any sense to me, you should be able to choose which school you want your child to attend. Anyhow.....getting back to original thread subject....the 12th region can and will compete with any other region. (from a former die hard maroon fan in my younger days to a present jumper fan) I like to cheer for all of our local school teams and wish them well!

I think it'll be great for the rest of the region if he is in fact back at Pulaski and plays. Their team had as much talent as any in the region last year and just simply imploded--it won't be any different this year.

That wasn't much of an accomplishment last year. The fact is they had as much talent as anyone in the region and lost 16 out of their last 20 games. I would call that an implosion.

I doubt they would trade their "Championship" trophey for the W's at the end of the season.

What kind of parent would give away their parental rights? I would think that any kid that lives in the county should be able to attend a county school--all students live in Pulaski Co.--Somerset is in Pulaski Co. isn't it?

No the court order was because the KHSAA ruled that the transfer from Wayne County wasn't quite right (I do not know what was wrong). It had nothing to do with Somerset.

Actually, I think the court order was because the KHSAA ruling was proven invalid. It wouldn't have taken OJ's lawyer to figure this one out. It can be talked about over and over but most people know what the real issue was. It is time to move forward. A new season is upon us and the 12th region has a host of talented players. Let's watch the games on the court and quit trying to instigate negative conversation from gossip. :thumb:

All I am saying is that John Perkins transfer from Wayne Co. to Pulaski Co. was the Exact same reason Ross transferred from PC to somerset. Yet John Perkins had to sit out the football season, and needed a court order to be eligible in basketball, where as Ross was eligible to play immediately. That was a double standard and an injustice to john perkins. I do not blame somerset i blame the former principal at PC for this injustice.

 

 

Ty is a very talented player, and when his mental maturity catches up with his physical maturity, he will be the best player in the 12th region and one of the best players in the state.
