Final

I did my best to try and ease the Owensboro folks into what they were facing. South Warren has definitely yanked the Crown and Scepter away from BGHS and shown they now are the Region 1 5A royalty. It will be the Spartans and CovCath in the 5A title game and CovCath better expect a battle.

South Warren took Owensboro to the woodshed in a big way. The blocked field goal resulting in a roughing the kicker call and the kick return after Owensboro's td turned the momentum. Not taking anything away from South, OHS came out flat. They showed no signs that they were in a playoff game until the middle of the second quarter, by then the game was pretty much over. Brown comes in and has a couple nice runs, makes you wonder why Coach Fallin didn't give that kid a shot at it in the first half. Bush went out in the first half and did not return. I hope the coach was being cautious and that the kid isn't hurt. Warren held on to the ball WAY to long. Just gt rid of the ball and don't take the sack. Good luck next week South Warren, take care of business.

Congrats to Owensboro on a great season!

This was not surprising at all. I did not expect this to be a contest. Owensboro didn't have near enough weapons to compete with SW. Owensboro's running offense had absolutely no chance against the front line of SW. I didn't expect this game to be much after the first and that's what happened.

Well...not surprised, but was hoping for a different outcome. I thought to win this game ohs would need a special teams TD and maybe a fumble/int big return early in the game. Neither came, and honestly the SW front on both defense and offense owned the night. Kudos to SW they are a very good team. Ohs couldn’t get much going, receivers were locked down most of the night, add that to a massive pass rush and this is the outcome you get. Great year for the Red Devils. Pretty sure if you’d asked them in July if they’d take 10/3 and a regional final appearance that the players and staff would gladly take that. I thought OHS was classy in defeat, devils fans should be proud. Good luck to South Warren.
